Things To Do

Discover the fun beyond the fields, courts and stadiums while visiting some of Delaware’s top sports friendly attractions.

Enjoy a day in the sand and catch some waves at one of Delaware’s beautiful beaches. Stroll along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, experience classic amusement rides at Funland, take a plunge at the Jungle Jim’s Water Park or go wake boarding and jet skiing in Dewey or Bethany Beach. Make sure to stop at Thrasher’s French Fries, Grotto Pizza and Kohrs Bros for delicious treats and foodie favorites.

Love to shop? Buy more for less with Delaware’s tax-free shopping! Visit Christiana Mall (located in northern Delaware off of I-95) for brand-name stores such as Nordstrom, H&M, PacSun, plus many more. Or if you’re visiting the southern Delaware and beach resort area, stop at Tanger Outlets, home to the mile of style with Old Navy, Fossil, Hollister and many more! Here is a bonus tip: Dick’s Sporting Goods is opening a new store at the Dover Mall located in central Delaware near the Dover International Speedway in Fall 2013.

Catch a Wilmington Blue Rocks game! During baseball season, visitors can watch the Wilmington Blue Rocks, a Minor League Baseball team, take on opponents at Frawley Stadium located just off I-95 and near the Riverfront. Check their schedule for special game day promotions.

Zip your way across Delaware’s first and only zip line and treetop adventure course at Lums Pond State Park. Go Ape is only a few miles from the Newark and University of Delaware stadium area and offers beautiful views and athletic courses. Go Ape zip line is an ideal group and team building activity! (Please note kids must be over the age of 10).

Come out and enjoy a Delaware 87ers game with your team or family! The 87ers (an NBA D-league Organization) will hit the court at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark for their home opener on November 17th, 2015.  For more information, please visit
